Patio season has arrived, and there’s no better time to enjoy the best of Prince George’s local restaurants, pubs, and cafés. We’ve rounded up patios across the city so you can soak up the sunshine while supporting local businesses. Looking for an extra reason to get out and explore? Patios that are Open for Business:
Betulla Burning
Tucked away at the back of the top floor of Betulla Burning, this patio is small and intimate, making it a cozy or romantic option for a lunch or dinner outing. Heaters will keep you toasty on cool spring days as you savour Neapolitan pizza made in a wood-fired oven or dive into some freshly prepared pasta.
Browns Socialhouse
Browns Socialhouse offers one of the largest patios in town with partially covered and uncovered sections. The heaters are hot, the taps are cold, and they’re serving up all of your favourite dishes, so stop by to say hi and stay a while on the patio.
CrossRoads Tap & Kitchen
If you want to enjoy craft beer with your patio experience, head to either CrossRoads Tap & Kitchen. Heaters and propane fueled fire pit tables will keep you warm and large canopies will keep you dry during spring showers. Grab your favourite pizza, sandwich, or salad to pair with your craft beer of choice.
Earls
Earls is a popular spot in Prince George year-round and its patio is always hopping in the summer. It’s not quite summer weather yet, but the uncovered section of the patio is open and staff are ready to serve you all of your favourite brunch, lunch, and dinner items.
Nancy O’s
Nancy O’s offers a sunny patio equipped with lots of fauna. Enjoy a quick lunch or an elaborate dinner served with picturesque cocktails.
BFF Bar & Grill
BFF Bar & Grill is a local business serving up rich flavours and the best spot for family and friends to gather. They are a place where you count your memories, not your calories!
Ritual CoffeeWorks
If you want to sit and enjoy a deeply flavourful third wave coffee from Ritual CoffeeWorks, you can grab your coffee and a regular, vegan, or gluten-free treat to go with it and then head outside to sit at one of their colourful teal tables. They don’t have a patio per say, but sidewalk seating is a great option for enjoying a coffee!
Second Cup Coffee Co.
Another place where you can sip on a coffee and stay instead of getting it to go is Second Cup at Parkwood Place. The outside of the coffee shop is lined with small tables and chairs so you don’t have to go home to enjoy your coffee and baked treat.
Prince George Golf and Curling Club
The Prince George Golf and Curling Club is open for the season and so is the large patio attached to the club’s restaurant. It’s the perfect spot to relax and have a bite and a drink after a round or two of golf or on a sunny day if you’re not a golfer.
Cold Front Cider
Cold Front Cider is a craft cidery in Prince George, located on Foreman Road. They make simple, light, and refreshing ciders using only BC-sourced fruits with no added sugar. Whether you’re a cider lover or trying it for the first time, their picnic area is a laid-back spot to relax, bring a picnic, and enjoy a glass!
GRAMA’S INN
Come on in to Grama’s Inn, meet their friendly staff, and enjoy your meal the way Grama used to make it! Open 7 days a week from 6:30am to 1:30pm.
Mulino Kitchen & Craft Cocktails
Mulino is a contemporary Italian restaurant bringing upscale fare to Prince George. Their menus are inspired by Executive Chef Dean’s philosophy of preparing high-quality, natural dishes using limited ingredients – no additives, preservatives, or fillers. They focus on fresh food, ethically raised meats, and homemade desserts to ensure our guests leave feeling great about their meal!
The Keg
The Keg offers a patio that’s bordered on the sides facing the street by glazed decorated glass, making the experience semi-private. They’re offering seating on a first-come, first-served basis. There are only 10 tables available, but if you don’t get a spot, you can head to one of the other patios on this list.
Montana’s BBQ
If you’re craving BBQ but don’t want to fire yours up, head to the patio at Montana’s. It’s spacious and covered and you’re going to love enjoying BBQ without putting in the work to make it. They offer everything from ribs and steaks to hand-held BBQ classics and even have seafood dishes.
The BX Pub
The BX Pub has a little patio tucked to one side of the building that you might miss if you don’t look closely as it’s shaded by trees. Radiant heat has being added to the patio, so it’ll feel like you’re on a sun destination vacation! Keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates.
Slaughterhouse Craft
Slaughterhouse Craft is located in an old slaughterhouse out West just past Chilako Meats. They have a lovely outdoor covered picnic area with a large lawn to play lawn games and enjoy some cider and mead. They also have their own food truck so if you get hungry they have you covered! If you like sitting and sipping in a beautiful outdoor setting, Slaughterhouse Craft is the place to be.
The Dudley Sports Bar & Restaurant
Enjoy great food, sports, and a dog-friendly patio at The Dudley, a unique blend of a sports bar, family restaurant, and cozy British pub!
Ice Cream Express
Another local favourite for ice cream is the Ice Cream Express, which is located by the Strike Zone. They serve up a range of delicious ice cream flavours and offer colourful outdoor seating.
The Canadian Brewhouse & Grill
The patio on the roof of The Canadian Brewhouse is one you’ll want to check out . There’s plenty of room to space out on this large patio and you can order drinks from the bar. Watch their social media for updates.
Red Robin
If you’re craving a delicious burger and bottomless fries from Red Robin, you can enjoy them on their patio, weather dependent. So if the weather is mild, dry, and warm, chances are their patio will be open for service. Call ahead if you’re not sure and keep in mind that seating is first-come-first served.
Moxie’s Restaurant
Moxie’s offers a private patio to the side of the restaurant. So make sure to watch their Facebook page for updates and stop by once their patio is up and running so you can enjoy all of your favourite meals in a more social setting.
Alpine Pub
As the Alpine Pub is located in the Hart! So watch for it to open up and then head there to enjoy some bevvies and traditional pub food at one of Prince George’s longest standing neighbourhood pubs.
La Catrina
Head upstairs above The Black Clover to discover a rooftop patio serving delicious Mexican-inspired food and refreshing drinks. One of only two food-service establishments in Prince George with a rooftop patio, it’s a unique place to dine and unwind. Check for updates and hours on their Instagram.
Northern Lights Estate Winery
The Bistro at the Northern Lights Estate Winery is open. So there’s plenty of time to get excited for their chef’s yummy creations paired with their delicious fruit wines. As with the other restaurants, keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages for updates and stop by to pick-up some wine.
Starbucks
Outdoor seating is open at multiple Starbucks locations. They offer space outside of their storefront or on their patios for people to sit and enjoy a carefully crafted drink.
House of Ancestor Conference Center and Café
House of Ancestors is serving up different bannock dishes, delicious roasted vegetable paninis, and sweet treats! Soak up the sun their brand new patio while enjoying one of their dishes or carefully crafted drinks.
Trench Brewing & Distilling
Trench is serving up all your favourites! Enjoy the sun, grab some drinks from the tap room, and relax. Be sure to keep an eye on their social media for specials.
Mr. Mikes
Mr. Mikes is known for their steaks and burgers but has lots of other options as well! They are steakhouse casual so it is a good option for all ages to dine at. Mr. Mikes also has a great patio for those who like to tan while they eat.
OM Pizza Bar Café
OM Pizza Bar & Café is a new restaurant in town but it is gaining popularity fast. They offer modern Indian food in a casual upscale bar atmosphere. Don’t worry if you don’t like Indian food, as they have something for everyone with their delicious homemade pizzas! OM also has a large patio to dine at in the summers as well which makes it the perfect place for any occasion.
Bon Voyage
Located West of Prince George, Bon Voyage offers a family friendly environment with daily features including an extensive Sunday brunch buffet! This restaurant has something for everyone as they also serve great Greek food as well as all of the family favourites. Bon Voyage offers a patio for people to eat at for those wanting to enjoy the morning quiet or the afternoon sunshine!
Rockford
Located at the Sandman Signature Hotel, the Rockford is serving up bold global flavours. Savor the food with friends and family while dining on their beautiful patio.
