Close to the Douglass Botanical Gardens lies the beautiful Forests for the World park, an area of 106 hectares with 15 km of trails to explore taking you through a variety of local forest habitats and brings you alongside the shores of Shane Lake. Interpretive signage gives you the opportunity to learn more about the area and the unique plants and animals that call it home, providing an excellent outdoor learning opportunity for all.
A jaunt to the middle of town will find you arriving at Rainbow park. Located in a residential area in central Prince George this park offers a variety of gardens, gazebos, seating and for those interested in trying their hand at disc golf, there is a disc golf course throughout. This urban park is an excellent retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Lheidli T’enneh Memorial park overlooks the mighty Fraser River with trails that take you throughout the park’s many gardens and open spaces. This park is also a cultural center of the city with a long history far beyond the establishment of the city itself. With its bounds you will find a local museum, cafe, the original First Nations cemetery for the original village upon which the park now sits. The majority of this park is not dog friendly aside from the centennial trail where dogs are allowed but required to be on leash.

Moores Meadow is a beautiful open bowl surrounded by a dense forest habitat bursting with local plants and wildlife. There are a myriad of trails for you and your four legged friend to explore. The meadow provides a wide open space for you to let your dog off leash and explore the grassy field.
In the fall the hillside of Ginter’s Meadow comes to life with the fall as all the aspen, and birch gain their vibrant fall colours. This park has an extensive trail network that runs throughout the park and all the way up to the university. At the bottom of the hill you will find a wide open space with a beautiful grassy rolling meadows allowing your four legged companion to roam and enjoy the open space.
