Otway Nordic Centre
The Otway Nordic Centre provides 55kms of trails with 10kms of FIS homologated competition trails, 5kms of lighted trails, 8kms of dog friendly trails, 30 kms of snowshoe trails, a brand new lighted 30-lane shooting range built for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, a day lodge complete with heated washrooms, rental shop, concession, kitchen area, waxroom, and the capacity for a large spectator area. Two technical buildings were also built for the 2015 Games, one for cross country and one for biathlon. The facility is groomed with two Piston Bully 100 snowcats and two snomobiles, one with a Ginzu groomer and one with a Tidd Tech groomer.
Annual snowfall in Prince George is 156.62cm and Otway is at an elevation of 691.3 providing perfect training conditions.
The Otway Nordic Centre is also used during the summer months for trail running, hiking/walking, and mountain biking.
