One of theatre history’s greatest plays Hedda noir tells the story of a beautiful daughter of the late General Gabler, who returns from her honeymoon to confront the boredom and banality of married life in a world where her strength as a woman is not socially acceptable. When the re-appearance of an old flame of hers threatens her husband’s career prospects, Hedda, too proud to lose the only power she believes she can still wield, sets in motion a tragic series of events that builds to a climactic finish. In this new adaptation set in 1938 and with an exciting original design sourced from the Film Noir genre of that period this production of a playwright considered the greatest in history second to only to Shakespeare is a must see for any theatre goer.
