Randy Hutchings: Live at The Black Clover

Saturday January 20, 2018 | 9:00 PM

The Black Clover, 1165 5th Avenue
Randy Hutchings is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, bassist, and harmonica player. He has been a fixture of the Canadian music scene since 1986. He has toured across Canada for many years and has performed in a wide variety of festivals and music venues. Hailing from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Hutchings released his first single, Black Crow Rising, in 1999 which was a smash in Atlantic Canada and remained in the Top 10 at OZFM for three months. In 2005, he released his second album with Calgary’s Lorrie Matheson producing. The album featured some of the area’s most talented players, including the legendary Billy Cowsill. His single, South Country, achieved radio rotation on Calgary 97.7 FM and Alison Brock’s CKUA show Wide Cut Country.
Hutchings is an everyman musician who knows how to tell a story with his music, giving it a twist and a little life of its own. His lyrical voice and well-crafted songwriting cut right though to the emotional level.
