PGSO’s principal clarinetist, Simon Cole, starts off the evening with a new piece originally commissioned for the orchestra’s 50th Anniversary, now also serving as a celebration of the return of live orchestral music to the city. Prince George native Karl Stobbe returns to the PGSO with Vaughan Williams’ idyllic The Lark Ascending. The concert builds to Elgar’s great masterwork, The Enigma Variations.
