COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE: SEE DETAILS
Our premier pioneer event that’s so chock full of activities that it needs two days! Homestead Days is a step back in time to have fun the old-fashioned way!
Come out and enjoy heritage demonstrations such as ice cream and butter making, take part in games and races for different age groups, and cheer on the brave souls willing to participate in the eating contests!
Our summer staff will be ready to talk to visitors about their heritage projects, which they will have worked on all season long. The holiday Monday will feature black-powder shooting demonstrations – this is one instance where may want to leave the pooch at home.
This weekend is all about doing things the old-fashioned way, so everyone can join in the pioneer races and relays, which have different categories for adults and children! Bring a lunch, or bid on the homemade lunches in the Box Lunch Social – don’t worry, the BBQ will also be running if you get outbid!
Huble Homestead Historic Site is a 30 minute drive north of Prince George, BC. Leave the city behind, and make your way up Highway 97, before turning off on Mitchell Road to continue another 6 kilometres down a well-maintained dirt road.
Huble Homestead is normally dog friendly, though we advise against bringing dogs on Monday, August 3. The site is open daily for guided tours and shopping in the General Store. Enjoy a picnic or purchase lunch from the BBQ as you relax in the fresh air. Admission is by donation, with a recommended amount of $10.00 per family.
