Great Northwest Fibre Fest

Canada is home to many creative and talented fibre artists and makers. Here in the Northwest there is a vibrant community of indie dyers, spinners, weavers, and local yarn shops, designers and the makers and creators of the tools, accessories and embellishments to make your crafting both fun and unique. We are bringing as many of them together as possible to showcase their amazing creations.

Creators love to share their knowledge so, of course, there will be workshops and demos. This year we have three classes for you to choose from:

1. 3 D Needle Felting. Needle felting is like painting with wool. Learn how to manipulate fluffy fleece into firm three-dimensional felt decorations.
2. Karaoke Dyeing. Why Karaoke? Because at Smiling Sheep their passion for colour and love of music come together. Get inspired to create colourways that reveal your special musical faves.
3. Sweater Weather hat. Create an ultra cozy, chunky hat for the upcoming sweater weather season. This is a great pattern for stash diving as well as learning fun and engaging techniques.

The Fest is a great place to socialize with your fibre-loving friends (including those you haven’t met yet). We will have a tented social area where you can relax, sit, eat, visit and craft.

Do you feel lucky? The vendors are each contributing an item from their stock of goodies to the door prizes.

If you need an energy recharge Cait from Cait’s Sweet Bites and Beanery will be there with light lunch and snack items.

This event is open to the public and entry is free.
