Sunday June 7, 2020  |  2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
REAPS, 1950 Gorse Street

Zero-waste is not about how we currently live, it's more of a goal. We all produce waste and have a negative impact on the environment one way or another, but those living zero-waste are constantly striving to lessen that impact.

Learn about steps to achieve your goal, items to switch out, make and take item of your choice.

Register on this event to ensure enough DYI supplies available.

Composting 101
Sunday June 14, 2020  |  2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
REAPS, 1950 Gorse Street

Compost returns valuable nutrients to the soil to help maintain soil quality and fertility. Compost improves plant growth and lead to better yields.

Food waste and yard / garden waste together currently make up more than 28 percent of what we throw away, and should be composted instead. Making compost keeps these materials out of landfills where they take up space and release methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

Workshops are FREE and drop in.

PGQC Pride Rocks #PrideRocks
Saturday July 4, 2020

To keep our communities safe, the annual Pride Parade has been cancelled this year, but other Pride celebrations have not! Join Prince George Queer Cafe (PGQC) for a Pride themed painted rock hunt in Prince George from June 20th to July 4th, followed by a Pride Picnic and Car Parade on July 4th. See the following event page for more information regarding the car parade: https://www.facebook.com/events/2394030237560882/

COVID-19 has made things financially difficult for many families. If you would like to participate but do not currently have the means, please contact Nicole at nsawin@intersect.bc.ca to arrange pick-up or drop-off of your very own rock painting kit, put together by locally-owned Watts Art Academy. These kits have been made possible by generous donations from Prince George community members. Please note that there are only a limited number of painting kits and we may not be able to accommodate all requests. They will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

If you are not from Prince George but would like to participate, please feel free to paint, hide, and find rocks in your community and post them in this group.

Start painting now and be ready to start on June 20th!
