Tourism Prince George is committed to the health and safety of our community, visitors and country. We continue to monitor and share ongoing, relevant and reliably sourced information as it occurs regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).
This is a challenging and complex time for all Canadians, and I am grateful for the strength and rapid response shown by all levels of Canadian government, health authorities, the tourism industry and other associations. We all have a role to play in staying informed and following the guidelines set out by provincial and federal agencies – to keep ourselves, our families, and our communities healthy.
Prince George is known for being a caring, giving community and if you are stranded and/or in need of some assistance please email or call our team in the links below and we are happy to assist.
Also, please continue to monitor this page and our social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) for more information. We also encourage you to sign up to receive our special information bulletins here.
CEO, Tourism Prince George
BC’s Restart Plan lays out a series of steps that we will take together to protect people and ensure that our province can come back from COVID-19 stronger than before. Under B.C.’s Restart Plan, government will work closely with public health officials, businesses and labour organizations to lift restrictions in phases, gradually allowing for more social and economic activity, while closely monitoring health information to minimize the risk to the public.
Restarting economic activity will look different in B.C. than in other jurisdictions, because only a small number of sectors in the province were closed by public health order. Many other provinces are just now reaching the level of safe operations B.C. has been able to maintain throughout the pandemic.
We are excited to partner with 10 other community organizations to launch the Support PG website. Support PG provides businesses with the resources they need to sustain or pivot their business during COVID-19, a directory of open businesses, good news stories, and up-to-date health and wellness information. Visit www.supportpg.ca today!
The Tourism Prince George office and Visitor Information Centre (VIC) closed as of Tuesday March 17th, 2020 until further notice. Tourism Prince George will continue to provide visitor services to visitors already in our region or interested in learning more about Prince George. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
For now, we encourage potential visitors to dream now and #exploreBClater. Please do your part to stop the spread - stay at home, and carefully follow the advice of our health authorities. The more we do today, the sooner we can #exploreBC again. Find the latest information from the provincial government here.
