Long days and warm nights have finally arrived. Take advantage of the summer weather, and enjoy the best Prince George has to offer. Many local businesses are beginning to open, and with that some physical-distancing friendly events too. Here’s our monthly event wrap up for July that we put together in partnership with Move Up Prince George.


Yoga In The Orchard

Join Rachelle from Sunset Studios as she guides you through a 1-hour Yoga practice by the Riverside Orchard, at Northern Lights Estate Winery. Attendees must bring their own mat, and follow social distancing markers. Limited attendance, pre-booking encouraged.

Pride Week Car Parade

Enjoy a front-row view on your lawn, and have a picnic as the Pride Car Parade makes its way around town. Local artists are working with the PGQC Pride Jam for Youth to have a concert live-streamed on social media during the parade.

This July, folks can enjoy the classic Summerfest celebrations with a new twist. Enjoy some togetherness with families and friends in your own backyards, with fabulous local food from downtown restaurants and family party packages and virtual entertainment online and on the local radio stations. The Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum is Open!

After a short hiatus, the Railway & Forestry Museum is now open for visitors. Guests will notice some of the exhibits are closed, including the min-rail, but many of the giant and historic items remain on display. Additional phases of the museum are set to open later in the summer, and extra cleaning and physical distancing precautions have been taken to ensure everyone’s safety.

Enjoy The Wildflowers At Goodsir Nature Park

With the extra rain this summer, the wildflowers are beautiful and in full bloom at Goodsir Nature Park. On Canada Day, take the family out for a stroll through the many trails to see the botanical displays. Both museums are now open, and brimming with information and beautiful displays. Jim Good will be on-site Canada Day, with complimentary refreshments for all visitors. Entrance fee is by donation.

Celebrate Canada Day With A Sugar Maple!

Canada Day is looking a little different this year, but you can still make it special. Bring home your very own sugar maple sapling to plant at your cabin, or your backyard and watch it grow. All proceeds go towards supporting Spinal Cord Injury BC’s program and services. Saplings start around 10-12 inches but will be 2-3 feet tall by next summer.

Visit The Local Farmers’ Market

With warm weather, comes an abundance of local veggies grown right around Prince George. Visit the Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings to get your hands on some delicious and locally grown produce and enjoy fresh herbs, fruits, baked goods, bread, meats and more. A number of safety measures are in effect and a shopping limit of 50 people at a time is in place.

Huble Homestead - Scavenger Saturday

The perfect outing for groups to take on at their own pace! This self-guided activity day will have you exploring the homestead as you work together with your family or friends to find all the items on a scavenger hunt list, as well as complete all the activities listed! From dressing up in pioneer costume, to working on your horseshoe game, your group will have to complete a variety of tasks before our staff will declare you finished! Pack a lunch and spend a few hours of your Saturday at the homestead working at your own pace to complete the challenge.

If you can’t make it for July 25, Huble Homestead is open to visitors all summer long.

Drive-In Movie Night

The Park Drive-In Theatre is now open for the summer season! Movies change nightly and run Thursday-Sunday. Be sure to check out the concession and grill which offers everything - popcorn, nachos, burgers, hot dogs, and a variety of refreshments - at prices that are hard to beat anywhere!

Yoga In The Park
Yoga In The Park is back! Classes are held at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park three times a week, rain or shine. Join Chinook Yoga for an evening class on Tuesday & Thursday or try a Sunday morning routine instead. Classes limits and distancing restrictions are in place.
