Once the excitement of the holidays has come and gone, January says hello with cold winter nights, dumps of fresh powder and freezing temperatures. To beat the winter blues, we’ve put together an exciting monthly event wrap up, in partnership with Move Up Prince George, to give you some ideas on how to enjoy your first month of 2020.

Champions of Magic
Prince George is the only stop in British Columbia for these five world-class illusionists. Performing at the CN Centre in late January, you’ll be blown away with an array of stunning stage-filled illusions, unbelievable mind-reading and close-up magic by some of the best performers in the world.

Gin Blossom: A Speakeasy
Enjoy the beginning of the ’20s all over again with this clever 1920’s throwback event. Featuring a gin cocktail competition, guest bartenders will be creating signature drinks for guests to rate all the while classic tunes, costumes and dancing will be in full swing.

Prince George’s main winter music festival is about to kick things up a notch and will blow those winter blues away. With a massive array of talent coming in from across the country, folks will experience a wide variety of genres, styles and artists. Enjoy a night of laid-back blue-grass blues, or energizing yourself with some world-class hip-hop or rich Irish-influenced fiddle tunes.

We Will Rock You
This musical is a quirky, eccentric and heartfelt story of outsiders. Featuring music from the famous Queen, this tale combines theatrical performances with rock n’ roll. The story follows two revolutionaries, Galileo and Scaramouche, on a quest to save rock n’ roll in a post-apocalyptic world.

Dine Around
The 2020 Dine Around festival is coming to Prince George! Hosted for 18 years in the Thompson Okanagan, this tasty festival will be making its way north and encouraging residences to tantalize their tastebuds across the city. With three Prince George restaurants participating, guests can choose between different interpretations of the special three-course menus - all paired with BC wines, spirits and beers.
