Eskers Provincial Park
Eskers Provincial Park is a day-use park located 40km northwest of Prince George. This park spans approximately 4,000 hectares of land and water, including 40km along the Stuart River Eskers Complex, numerous lakes, wildlife viewing, hiking, nature study, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing opportunities.
There are several trail options in Eskers Provincial Park, including a 3km loop around Pine Marsh. A longer, 6km trail leads to Kathie Lake. Visit BC Parks' website for a park map and park brochure.
This park is named after the eskers that are prominent in the area. Eskers are unique land forms that are long, sinuous gravel ridges that were created when sand and gravel was deposited by the meltwater channels of ancient glaciers that used to cover this area.
