From exploring frozen lakes and trails to snow covered peaks and back down into the city, this guide is sure to have an activity for the soloists, families and groups of friends to try.Try and tackle them all over the next 52 weeks and tag any uploads with #takeonpg

Ice Fishing with Reel North
Kick off your winter adventure with an ice fishing trip with Jerry from Reel North Adventure.  Bundle up, drill a hole in the ice, and try your luck at catching some northern treasures such as Rainbow trout, Brook Trout, Kokanee, Lake Trout (Char) and Burbot beneath the frozen surface. Each package includes: thermal insulated ice tents with heaters, transportation to/from PG for group sizes of 3 or less, and a licensed professional fishing guide.

Aberdeen Helicopter
For a breathtaking view of what the north has to offer, take flight with Aberdeen Helicopters, who have been servicing PG for 20 years, and use a turbine-powered Bell 206 B Jet Ranger and Airbus Helicopters AS350 B2 helicopters. Exploring at Chun T’oh Whudujut (Ancient Forest Provincial Park)
Located 113km East of Prince George, Chun T’oh Whudujut is a place that can be explored over and over again. Ice Skating
During the colder winter months, head to the outdoor oval that is run by the Outdoor Ice Oval Society of Prince George. If you want to try something new, you can rent speed skates from them, if that’s not for you, make sure to bring your own skates! If being outside in the crisp winter air isn’t your thing, head to one of the local arenas and join in on a public skate.

Canfor Leisure Pool
The Canfor Leisure Pool offers a water elevator to help visitors in and out of the pool, a “NinjaCross” pool obstacle course, a large water slide, a leisure pool with play features, a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room and more. This family-friendly fun activity is a great way to spend quality time together and compete in some friendly competition. 

Northern Light Winery
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, Northern Lights Estate Winery is always a sight to see. Indulge in the flavours of the north at Northern Lights Winery. Sample local wines in a cozy setting, appreciating the craftsmanship that goes into each bottle. The winery’s bistro offers delectable dishes that are sure to leave your mouth watering.
