Spring Ultimate Frisbee League. Organized by Prince George Disc Sports. Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at the PGSS fields, across from the YMCA. Learn how to play Ultimate Frisbee, the world's fastest growing sport. Ultimate is non-contact, co-ed, and combines the athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing of football and the breakout action of basketball. Newcomers are welcome and will enjoy the emphasis on spirit and sportsmanship over competitive play. Cost is only $50/individual or register as a team at a flat rate of $500. Fee Includes a pre-league BBQ and skills night, a jersey, and a day long championship tournament.

Rod Williamson Memorial Poker Ride
The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel will be hosting the Rod Williamson Memorial Poker Ride on Sunday, June 13 at Triple J Ranch (30 km North of Quesnel on Hwy 97, visit www.triplejranch.bc.ca for a map). Event begins at 8:00am, last riders out at 1:00pm. Ride is approximately 2.5-3 hours in length through the beautiful Ahbau back country. $25 per hand, additional hands are $20 each, lunch is included. First Prize is a saddle worth $1000!

A benefit dinner will be held at the Prince George Civic Centre on June 19, 2010. The dinner will include a silent and live auction with all proceeds going to the Cpl Darren Fitzpatrick Memorial Fund, which will be used to establish an award which will be given to students seeking careers in teh Canadian Forces. The dinner will begin with doors opening at 6pm, dinner at 7pm, and live auction at 8pm. The cost for the dinner is $50 per person or $450 for a table of 10.

The Canadian Diabetes Association, Northern BC Region, will host a community picnic on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Rainbow Park, Ospika Blvd, Prince George. Health Care Rally 10th Anniversary Celebration
Can you believe it has been 10 years since Prince George held its health care rally!
So much has happened since then: the Northern Medical Program was created, the Nursing program was expanded and added a Nurse Practitioner degree, and communities, individuals, and corporations throughout northern BC raised $6 million through the Northern Medical Programs Trust to support students. It is a testament to the commitment that northerners have to ensuring the vitality of the north.
In recognition of this anniversary, UNBC will be hosting a celebration and unveiling a donor wall in the Dr Donald Rix Northern Health Sciences Centre (NHSC) to forever name those who supported the NMPT during this critical first 10 years.
