History LGBTQ2+
Sunday November 19, 2017  |  1:00 PM - 3:30 AM
The Hub Space, 1299 3rd Avenue

Same-sex love and sexuality, gender queers, and transactivists have a long and proud history – much of which is not known. From ancient civilizations to long established cultures, through war and peace, through fear of punishment and death, lesbian, gay, two spirited, bisexual, transgender and gender queer peoples and cultures exist and flourish around the world and across time. What survives after many centuries of erasure, persecution, shame, suppression, and secrecy as the legacy for all is the courage and belief in yourself it takes, both in the past and now, to live true to who you are. Only in more recent decades has this hidden history been pursued and interwoven into more mainstream historical narratives. yet this history is more than just story. All of this proud history unites as foundation for the trans day of remembrance where today’s pioneers are navigating the killing fields of society’s prejudice. (adapted from an excerpt, Wikipedia)

Come and listen to our Guest Historian, Dr. Theresa Healy, share with us “Queer History” an illustrated history of the LGBT2TQII Community and Trans Day of Awareness

Marty has a remarkable likeness to Kenny Rogers and the voice to go with it. He has been endorsed by Kenny Rogers as well and has said to Marty, “Now don’t you go and get me in any trouble!”.
Wendy T. has been performing as Dolly Parton for over 10 years. She has headlined in Atlantic City and Las Vegas with the famed Legends in concert, as well as touring internationally. ArtSpace (above Books and Company), 1685 3rd Ave

You will be creating a vision for your life and learning how to manifest what you desire by setting intentions and using the power of visualization.
You will meet new people and be using creativity to make your very own beautiful and unique board that will be yours to take home.
You will also be receiving a 1 hour follow up coaching session with an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach so that you can discuss your board in depth and make sure that you have clarity about what you are gonna be working towards.
Vision boarding is perfect for helping people find direction and clarity in life. A couple examples of people who would benefit from making a board would be:
-people going through a huge life transition
-People feeling stuck or in limbo
-People who have goals already but want to create a visual collage of them
-People who just have no clue what they want out of life.

The work shop is at ArtSpace (located above Books and Company) and starts at 7pm. The cost is $45 in advance or $55 at the door. There will be an infused water bar as per usual and a gift basket for one lucky winner! you are welcome to bring snacks for yourself if you think you will get hungry.
