Our Get Here Winner is Katherine!

We want to extend a huge congratulations to the grand prize winner of our Get Here contest: Katherine Sinclair! She managed to rally up her friends and family to a happy victory. Katherine will enjoy an action-packed weekend full of winter fun this upcoming season, based on her itinerary "A Winter Blast".

Tell us what you would do with $2000 in Prince George!

"Like most of us, I love summer. I want to love winter as well so I would choose to spend my $2,000 for some winter fun filled weekend spent with my boyfriend!

Friday evening would begin with a fabulous meal at Cimo complete with cheesecake dessert before heading off to see a play at Theatre North West or perhaps a Judy Russell production at the PG Playhouse.

Saturday is the most exciting day of all when we get to head out Chief Lake Road to Dog Power Adventures where we will go on an exciting, and long anticipated, winter wonderland dog sled tour. Afterwards, with rosy cheeks and cold toes, we head back to town to enjoy a bite to eat at Café Voltaire. Afterwards, with steaming chai latte in hand we can relax a spell and browse the awesome aisles of Books & Company.

Rested up, we are ready to go again! Carney Hill tobogganing is next on our list. Piling grandchildren on our laps we whiz to the bottom of the hill over and over, surrounded by shrieks of joy and squeals of laughter. When, once again our cheeks are flushed and our mittens are wet, we all head over to Ohh... Chocolat for tasty tortes and a mug of their superb Mayan hot chocolate.

Later, the two of us hungry after such a busy day, enjoy a scrumptious meal at Ric’s Grill before heading off to CN Centre to cheer the Cougars hockey team towards victory! What an awesome day!

Sunday has an early start with a trip out to Otway Nordic Ski Centre. Having tried out cross country skiing for my first time last year I am eager to get back out on the trails and practice staying upright! After a few hours of skiing we have built up a hearty appetite and the best way to take care of that on a Sunday morning is enjoying the always delicious brunch at Esther’s Inn.

I am now convinced that I want to take up cross country skiing so we are off to browse Prince George’s ski shops to pick out our very own skis. It’s been a busy weekend and we head home to shovel out the driveway before heading out for an evening of excellent food and live entertainment at Nancy O’s Restaurant.

What a fabulous weekend!! Exhausted, we go home to enjoy little campfire in the backyard and a mug of hot wine."
